This was the worst experience i have ever had. Called in order they said it would be ready in 35min. Wife gets there to pick it up and the order hasnt even been started. She calls to notify me that they are out of beef for my beef sanwich. I changed my sandwich to a chicken parmigian. To wich she was told that would take another 35min. They did offer to deliver. So the food finally arrived and it was the worst chicken parm ever. The hot wings were cooked in low temp oil so they were oily. Wife got shrimp that was also horrible. I WILL NEVER BE ORDERING FROM HERE AGAIN.

So done with this place. I placed an order at 5:07pm told an hour. Then vcalled at 6:25pm to check my order, was hung up on twice, then told they weren't taking anymore order, gung up on a third time. Finally got the girl to NOT hang up and without even checking my name and order, informed me 2 hours. WTF is THAT??? NOT MY PROBLEM they cant keep up with their customers and orders. They already charged my card so guess Im screwed. Last damn time I order from Tinley Park store.

Website says open till 10pm, we placed an order at 8:53, website said 35 minutes, arrived at 9:20pm to pick it up. Upon arrival we are told they closed at 9 and they would not be making any pizzas. No call to say it was canceled - the girl acknowledged she received it. We love Palermos so we keep trying - this was the third strike for us at Tinley and will not be ordering again. We will take the annual trip to 95th or 63rd. If this is a franchise Palermos really needs to train their owners - if this is one of their own, they need to fire some people.

This review is for the Tinley Park location. The pizza is GREAT. I would give 5 stars for the food. Some of the best pizza in town. It's the service that is terrible. Palermo's please upgrade your phone lines! When you call, the phone lines there are awful. They often can't hear you, and it's not my phone line (I've ordered from my work line), it's theirs. Not to mention the people answering sometimes have difficulty understanding spoken English which makes it a frustrating experience. So then I tried ordering online figuring that would be easier... NOPE... I get a phone call a half hour after I placed my order online saying they lost the order online and need to me re-order over the phone. My first order I asked for Thin Crust and got a Deep Dish. This place is delivery or carryout only and perhaps I should just go and pickup my order as the delivery service is slower than molasses. Each time they say "45 minutes to an hour" and three times it's been 1.5 hours. I live about 1 mile away from their building. Don't make promises you can't keep - hire more delivery drivers if the ones you have can't keep up. You food is good... but your service really needs work.

The pizza is great. The sauce is sweet just how I like it. The customer service is horrible. Sometimes you are put on hold for what seems like forever. There is no thank you or anything. This is a pickup or delivery only location. No sit down. If you do not mention specials they charge you full price.

Pizza was ok to decent. My low rating is based more on experience/service. I purchased a groupon for $11 to receive $20 worth of food. I ordered a large pizza half sausage and pepperoni, the other half pepperoni. After eating my portion/side that was correct, I noticed that my son's side was incorrect when he arrived home and decided to eat. When calling the store, I was told that my option was to bring it back in tact, or get a $5-$10 credit. When told them that I would take the credit, I was told that it would be $7 dollars due to my only having pd $0.22 after the groupon. My issue is that the store offered the groupon, the order was correct on the receipt, so something was lost in translation to the cook. The minimal expectation to properly rectify a situation would be to offer a replacement at no cost, meaning a free small pepperoni on us or 1/2 off your next order, etc. It seemed a bit nit picky to say well you only pd this, so we will give you.... I declined the credit and will go elsewhere. Good business is making things right. I have been in sales for over 20 years and I have always gone out of my way to rectify issues and leave my customers with a good feeling, so they would return to me. It didn't matter if my customer spent $10 on a clearance polo or $13K on a custom order, they all knew that their business was valued and appreciated and that their concern was mine.

I love Palermo's, their sweet sauce & fresh sausage and grew up eating their pizza. On that note, I ordered a pizza and an antipasta salad to go from this location. Showed up and my order wasn't ready yet - no big deal, I sat and read the paper while I waited. Yikes, the woman who was working the register was SCREAMING and SHOUTING at her employees in the back. She was crass and rude with them. It was completely distasteful in general to treat an employee that way, but especially when they had customers waiting for their order in the lobby. So the food I give a 4 (BTW - the antipasta salad is amazing - piled high with chunks of cheese and salami, tomatoes, cucumbers, black and green olives, roasted red peppers) - but the service of the woman at the front I give a -1

I was so sad to see that their Downers location closed. Palermo's Downers was our favorite pizza....crust perfect.....sauce perfect (a little on the sweeter side which I like). So this past weekend, we were in the Tinley area and decided to get Pizza at Palermo's. The pizza, as usual, didn't disappoint. I had the Gluten free and my husband had regular crust. I am new to Gluten free everything and was so happy to have pizza that didn't taste like cardboard. I wouldn't even know it was different. The owner was there and he told us what happened to the Downer's location. Turns out that the building owner who he leased through was not willing to negotiate on the lease cost despite the road repair work that was going on for so long on 75th and he was losing business as a result of. So the Palermo's owner just shut its doors and didn't renew the lease. He has plans of opening a new location in the area again. It is a far drive for us to get pizza in Tinley (the Downers location was so close to us). However, we will make a point to pick up pizza from Palermo's in Tinly whenever we have a craving.

Like other Palermo's the sauce is way too sweet and crust is only ok. Best pizza in the area hands down is Ed n Joes.

Very poor food quality. We had: Fettuccine Alfredo Chicken Pesto Sandwich Pizza Bread The pasta was missing something. It tasted terrible and we needed to add tons of salt. I think they forgot how to mix the sauce right and add onion or enough Parmesan. The chicken sandwich was really dry. I couldn't swallow the bites without choking. The fries were also not fully cooked and some pieces were mushy. The pizza bread was a piece of bread, sauce, and mozzarella. Can't really mess that up too much, but it just wasn't that tasty. Glad I had a Groupon and didn't actually waste money on this place. Maybe there pizza is the only thing worth getting here. But stay away from there other foods.

I have not actually gone to this location. I have only ordered delivery. I was excited to see this place open in Tinley Park as I was a big fan of the one on 63rd St in Chicago and 95th in Oak Lawn. I was pleased to find they use the same great sweet sause that makes this anti-pizza girl's mouth water. Yum! Delivery is usually decent turn around. I have never had an issue with getting it to my door within the hour.

So, you may know by now that I am a pie fanatic. Yep, I will stalk a pie in an alley if its the bomb! Having quite the za tour this round during the holidays, I have to say that Palermo's stands out of the 6 different pies I had from different restaurants. The crust is cooked to perfection. This is your average hand-tossed style. Not overly thick to overfill you and not so thin that the ingredients fall off the slice. Just right. The knockout punch to your taste buds come from the cheese on this pie. This pie had complete coverage. The ingredients were fresh and plentiful. Also, the sauce has a nice sweet taste to it that brings you back for more. The trick with many sweet sauces is that Americans' love their sugar. Sprinkle a little in the sauce and you'll be defending your stock with dough rollers! There are a ton of pizza places in this area. It can be quite flooding in the cranium to pick the right one. If it is worth anything; I suggest you stop reading pizza reviews and order your pie from Palermo's.

Ordered a carry out XL sausage mushroom pizza to try out this location with a groupon coupon. Was a pleasant surprise! Pizza smelled great at pickup. I like the sweeter than usual sauce with right amount of oregano. Pizza actually tastes Italian unlike some of the less than properly seasoned competition. The sausage and mushrooms were plentiful and of good quality. The pizza was perfectly cooked and wasn't soggy in the middle as often happens. I ordered the thin (not the paper thin)which for me was perfect. Will definitely be back.

Palermo's is a take pizzeria place. Their pizza is pretty good. They have a sweet sauce with a little bit of spice. The cheese is compliments the butter crust. Don't come often, yet I like ordering here often.

Simply the best pizza in the area. The crust is perfect, but it's the sauce that puts this pizza over the top. It has a bit of sweetness to it, so it's not the typical overly-tomato-tasting sauce you find at so many other places (seriously, it's like they opened a can of tomato paste at those places and just spooned it on). I could eat just the crust and sauce alone! I've had a few other things on the menu, like pasta, and they were okay. But honestly, if I'm getting food from Palermo's, I want the pizza. Yes, it is that good.

I was in the south suburbs in Frankfort for a romantic getaway with my better half and we were not leaving our pool suite for one minute, so obviously we needed to order some good delivery. After some wine, cocktails, swimming and unmentionable activities - we were craving some food to really hit the spot. We called and made an order for one sinfully fat-ass meal! We ordered a small half sausage and half pepperoni deep-dish pizza, an order of fried mushrooms, 1/2 slab of ribs (came w/fries, slaw & garlic cheese bread), and a dozen hot wings with hot sauce and bleu cheese. The phone call order process and credit card payment via phone was seamless - the lady that took our order was very friendly and patient to our detailed order. She even threw in most of the extra sauces we wanted for free, voiding the annoying 50 cent charges. The food arrived promptly in about 45 minutes. The deep dish pizza was decent - the cheese, toppings, and sauce weren't layered in that classic Chicago-style manner. I felt that the "deep-dish" aspect of it was just the thicker crust and bread which was quite unpleasantly hard (that's not "what she said") from being baked in a bigger pan. Either way, it had filling slices, with a moderate amount of gooey cheese, a moderately low amount of pizza sauce, and supple amount of meat. The presentation of the pizza was top notch - it looked very appealing before we took it apart to devour! You can see it in the photos section of this listing. Sadly the presentation ousted its actual quality and taste by a bit. Still, it was definitely 'good enough' as food was the not the focal point of my evening (for once). The fried mushrooms were as good as they get - hot, wet steaming mushroom on the inside - Italian herbed breaded crust on the outside. Yum! We dipped these in hot sauce, ranch, and even a special garlic mayo they included! The wings were seasoned breaded and fried, and though they weren't sauced per se, we were able to toss them in the included hot sauce and when dipped in the bleu cheese, they were yummy in the tummy - I had like 8 of em'! The 1/2 slab of ribs had a moderate amount of meat on them, I've had meatier ribs. They were not too dry but the meat was not exactly falling off the bones either. They put such a supple amount of BBQ sauce over them that we were able to toss half our chicken wings in the sauce to make BBQ chicken wings. The ribs came with some good fries that had gotten a tad soft (understandable with delivery) and some good garlic bread that we added cheese to for 50 cents. The small side of cole slaw included helped have something fresh to bite into in all that greasy yummy mess. Overall the deep-dish was good enough to eat and enjoy, but nothing to brag about. It was nowhere near the best in Chicagoland, and don't even think of comparing it to Gino's, Giordano's or Lou Malnati's! The fried mushrooms were yummy as they usually are, the chicken wings were very good (especially when complemented with hot sauce, BBQ sauce, bleu cheese, etc.), and the ribs were above average. When staying in for the night and craving some nice greasy, indulgent food - this place really can hit the spot. I highly encourage any couples staying at nearby Sybaris or are in the area and want some affordable delivery to check this place out. We ordered a ton of food (it ate like 2 separate dinners for me and my GF, and still we had 1/2 the pizza leftover) and it came out to about a $40 bill + tip, but when you take into account that we ate 2 meals out of it and still had 4 slices of pizza to take home for leftovers - it was a pretty solid value! So really we ordered enough for 3-4 people to eat big dinners with. I would order here again!

I used their catering for my daughter's communion 4/28/13. I ordered a variety of items, one of which was supposed to be vesuvio chicken and they sent roasted chicken instead. Obviously the person who took the order messed up because I also told him about an Amazon local coupon for $50 that I had and if I didn't remind them when I called to pay with my credit card, they didn't have that down either. When I called I was told they would bring it to me but take back the other chicken. What? First they were 15 minutes late to begin with and I had 40 people here waiting to eat. Spoke with a manager, Maria because I thought that was ridiculous. She tells me, the only difference is the garlic sauce. Yep, but that's what I ordered and had the vesuvio potatoes to go with it. I had people waiting to eat and asked her what they were going to do with the wrong chicken. She said "that's my business what I'm going to do with it". Really? a manager? She continued to argue with me and then said, "I don't tell you what to do at your house do I? I have never had a manager speak to me like that. Usually if your order is wrong they send the correct item and you just keep the other one. After all, I did have 40 people here waiting to eat. She did send over a half pan of vesuvio (which is less than I ordered). It showed up an hour later. She finally agreed that I didn't have to send the other chicken back. Maybe it's because I told her my company has already started eating and I could send back a pan of bones if she wanted. The other food was mediocre at best. My guest said the sausage was very dry and they were not happy with much of the other food either. I was always a fan of their pizza and thought I'd try their catering. Very sorry I did for many reasons. They have lost my business for anything going forward. I plan on calling and speaking with someone else because I'd hate to think that she is the main person in charge. I have never heard a manager so confrontational and downright rude.

This place REALLY hits the spot if you're craving a dinner or late night chow down feast of epic cheesy and fried proportions! My bf and I had a great delivery experience with Palermo's, we ordered the food with very specific instructions on extra sauces, and little personal preferences on how we like our food, and they are probably the first delivery place ever to not mess up our order! They remembered everything we asked for and then some. The deep dish pizza was off the cheesey-fo-sheezey, and they way the packaged it kept it piping hot when we unveiled it at our table even after traveling thru 15 degree weather outside. The ribs were saucy and tender, the fried mushrooms were every bit as scrumptious as I knew they would be, their wings were fried to perfection with a little hot sauce on the side, their cheesey garlic bread and the garlic dipping sauce were phenomenal too. This isn't Gino's East or anything, but it's a damn good place to eat!

We had Palermos Tinley Park catered during the holidays. It was AWESOME!!!! Love the generous portions on the chicken parm. The lasagne was tasty. Everything was ready at pickup time.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
